Amazing wildlife and scenery

Welcome to the South Uist Angling Club – South Uist Fishing

Join the South Uist Angling Club for South Uist & Benbecula fly fishing opportunities with hundreds of varied lochs, lochans and sea pools!

South Uist Estates (Storas Uibhist) controls all the fishing on South Uist and Benbecula and reserves the fishing on around two dozen lochs. All the other hundreds of lochs along with the seapools are available via the South Uist Angling Club.

The club has 20 boats situated throughout the area from the north of Benbecula to the south of South Uist along with almost endless bank fishing. Fish famous lochs such as East Bee or Loch Druidibeg for fantastic quality wild brown trout and sea trout. Fish a machair loch for stunning brown trout within sound of the Atlantic breakers, try fishing the tidal pools of the “Fords” for sea-liced sea trout, or walk miles into the hills and moors for perfect solitude and prolific trout lochs around every corner.

You can take your pick from unique shell sand machair lochs on the west side which create the perfect growing conditions for wild brown trout, or from the peaty lochs of the east side where the trout grow more slowly but may never see an angler from one year to the next.

Resident of South Uist or Benbecula? Join the club click here. – Remember membership for juniors under the age of 18 is free. If you are a visitor please click here for permit details.

SUAC PROMOTES CATCH & RELEASE

Our superb wild trout and salmon populations must be preserved and the environment in which they live protected in order to ensure that future generations can also enjoy fishing. Catch and release where possible is a method that SUAC in conjunction with Storas Uibhist promote to protect our environment and our fish for the years ahead.
